Top 6 Things You Need to Know About THE BODYGUARD!



The Bodyguard musical has arrived at Bass Hall, where it will run until Sunday, August 6. The show is based on the hit film of the same name and stars R&B singer Deborah Cox in the lead role of entertainer Rachel Marron (played in the film by Whitney Houston).

Here are the top six things to know:

Students can see the show at a discounted price! Student rush tickets will be available for the Wednesday and Thursday performances. Tickets are $25 and available at 6:30pm before each show. A valid student ID is required to purchase; one ticket per student.

Put On Your Dancin’ Shoes! The show features more than a dozen classic pop songs, including How Will I Know, Run to You, Queen of the Night, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Saving All My Love and the show-stopping I Will Always Love You.

Sound FX: The musical is based on the movie and features sound and visual effects depicted in the film, from gunshot sounds to strobe lights.

To give her pipes a rest, Deborah Cox will not perform at the Saturday Matinee and Sunday Matinee shows. The role of Rachel will be played by Jasmin Richardson on Saturday afternoon and DeQuina Moore on Sunday afternoon.
