It’s a big weekend here at Bass Hall and McDavid Studio. Here’s a rundown of what’s happening:
To close the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s 2016-17 season, pianist Vadym Kholodenko will perform Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. This will mark Vadym’s final concerts with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as Artistic Partner. Also on the program, Dvorák’s Symphony No. 9 and Shostakovich’s Festive Overture. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and 2pm Sunday. Info and tickets here.
Also on Friday, the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band will perform at 7:30pm at McDavid Studio. Just a few tickets remain.
Back at Bass Hall, the Fort Worth Symphony will host on Saturday the first-ever Symphony of Orchestras, featuring live performances from orchestras from across the state. The event is FREE and open to the public. Performances begin every hour, starting at 10:00 a.m. For more info, check out the FWSO’s Facebook page.
Sunday night is the finale of our big weekend of music: Fort Worth Youth Orchestra will be in the house for the final concert in its 52nd season. Come see all four orchestras plus the FWYO Suzuki School! For tickets, go here.
