Hello, New York!

Times Square!
Times Square!

Greetings from the City That Never Sleeps – and for the next four days, we won’t, either.

The Performing Arts Fort Worth marketing team is here in New York this week for the Broadway League’s annual Spring Road Conference – four days of industry panels, discussions, promotional parties and of course shows, shows, shows.

In the course of four days, the six of us (marketing plus our Prez & CEO Dione Kennedy) will see more than a dozen new Broadway musicals, including 2015 Tony Award nominees An American in Paris and Fun Home. The conference allows us the opportunity to see the shows before they go on the road. Some may be coming to Bass Performance Hall in future seasons.

Monday night was the conference’s first big shebang – a party to promote the upcoming tour of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, a musical based on the hit 1942 movie of the same name. The invite-only soiree was held in the historical studio of NBC’s Saturday Night Live and featured song-and-dance performances from cast members.
